Day 2 / Hotfix #2 - Message from the team

Thanks everyone for playing Voidtrain!

We received a lot of valuable feedback from you which helps us to prioritize improvements for the upcoming updates.

Even though we haven’t expected this amount of issues, we are determined to keep improving the game. In the end, that's what Early Access is all about. Please note that some fixes and improvements may take a while to implement. As a small team with limited resources, we kindly ask for your understanding and patience in this matter.

And now we have just uploaded Hotfix #2 (updated version of the game - 11684), which addresses the following issues:

  • Added an option to disable camera shake and head bobbing. Head bobbing will be disabled by default, but will still be available in options (There are still some slight camera movements remaining in the movement in the builder book and hammer mode. We will fix this in the next hotfix later today).
  • An option to adjust the Narrator's sound volume has been added to the game's sound settings.
  • If your quest progress was blocked prior to yesterday's hotfix (during the quests with Rofleemo bed, Hangar, Winch, Throwing Rings), this hotfix allows you to continue your adventure and automatically fixes issues with loading saved games.
  • Fixed an issue with the Hangar quest that could become blocked under certain conditions (the door closed and didn't let you reach the quest objective).
  • Additional checks in the quest with inviting Rofleemo on the train to prevent progress blocking. Also, a fix for those players whose saved games have already been affected by this.
  • Fixed an area in the 1st depot where players could get stuck.
  • Minor localization fixes.

Here’s a list of things we plan to improve in the nearest future:

  • Online multiplayer: we are currently trying to find a solution to reduce the impact of high ping and poor internet connection on the inability to connect and open sessions, and we are also investigating why, in some cases, the game does not show sessions or allow opening sessions on the first try. As a temporary solution that helps in some cases, try unbinding and binding your accounts again if they were synchronized in the game settings.
  • Blocking of the first Outpost quest, where some AI may be missing from the location. This can be temporarily resolved by save/load - after loading, the quest will be completed and continue within 3 seconds.
  • The possibility of losing amber with Rofleemo on a quest if the client picked up the quest amber and left the session.
  • The revolver is mistakenly given out before the quest (if the player builds a weapon bench and tries to use the weapon modification function), and has a negative impact on some game functionality.
  • In rare situations, players may destroy a quest wagon they have built, but not receive the quest resource back.
  • Clearer indication of the hammer and builder's book hotkeys/icons in the HUD.
  • After the character's death, notifications about picking up items disappear (temporary solution is save/load or reconnect to the session).


We have also decided to bring the demo back and keep it for now so that everyone can try the game for free before purchasing to check the current pace and basic gameplay mechanics.
